Giveaway Rules

On occasion, I will offer a giveaway sponsored by myself or another company.

Entry methods vary by contest, but will usually include a mandatory entry such as visiting the sponsor's website and completing a simple google docs form. A bonus entry will often be offered, for things such as "liking" the sponsor's Facebook page, and checking the appropriate box on the entry form.

Entries are not automatically given to Facebook "likers" and are not given for actions taken on Facebook (uploading a photo, making a comment etc.) per Facebook promotion guidelines.  All giveaways are run on this blog.  We do not particiapte in "flash" giveaways on Facebook as they are a Facebook promotion guidelines violation and could get our page deleted.

Eligibility: Giveaways are limited to residents of the U.S. only, who are 18 years old or older. If a sponsor has included residents of Canada in their giveaway, that will be clearly stated. The sponsor will be responsible for ensuring that all Canadian laws are followed.

I do not have a rule that someone cannot win more than 1 giveaway within a certain time period.  If the sponsor has such a rule for themselves, they are responsible for passing that information on to me, and I will clearly state so in the giveaway.

Time Period: Giveaways begin at the time the blog entry is posted, and end on the date and time specified on the individual post.

Alternate Means of Entry: If you are reading this, I assume you have internet access. If someone you know would like to enter and does not have access to the internet, please contact me for an address to mail an entry.

No purchase necessary: No purchase or consideration will ever be required to enter a giveaway, and purchasing the sponsor's product will not improve your chances of winning. I feel your time is valuable as well, therefore entry will be simple and will not require extensive time or information.

Odds of winning will vary based on the number of entrants in each giveaway.

Prizes will be described with reasonable detail including approximate retail value.

Winners will be chosen using random.org's true random number generator upon the close of the contest. They will be notified by email, using the email address entered on the entry form. I also publish the winner in a new blog post, with a link published on Twitter.

Prize Claim: If the winner does not respond to my notification within 48 hours, the prize will be forfeited and a new winner chosen and announced.  I make every effort to contact winners before doing so.

Privacy: I will never share or sell your information. If you have provided your email address I may use it to respond to a comment you left. If you are a winner, your mailing address will be shared with the sponsor.  If it makes sense to share your email address with the sponsor (for example, if you win a custom item, it would be easier to work with them directly than through me) I will ask your permission before sharing it.  If the giveaway is self-sponsored and the prize is not a product I have in hand, your information will be shared with the company from whom I order your prize.

Maria and Fitteds and Pockets and Snappis, oh my! are released from all liability, and are not responsible for technical glitches, lost or delayed entries or circumstances beyond our control.

All giveaways are void where prohibited by law.
